Not good, not good. We congratulate ourselves on our cleverness and yet we voluntarily erode our own privacy thinking we are actually doing good things. It is no stretch of the imagination to believe those who would harm us would gladly use anything like this to subdue us and subjugate us. Big brother is not around the corner, he is behind the camera lens and is observing our every move.

Obviously the army, military, and police could use it to see through wall to get the dirt bags or see filthy terrorists.

They already have stuff that can do that to an extent.

I can see this in a hand held device maybe about the size of a portable scope with a processor fast enough to do the filtering on the fly and decent screen. Anyone that has ever had to work on an old building or even a new one would love to have something like this if it could be made and sold at a reasonable price. One would make a job much easier in many cases.

I propose extending this concept for underground utility locating, which is the NICE application for this because underground utilities just want to be left alone, have no genitalia and typically do not value their privacy. The problem is only extremely low frequencies penetrate the ground and the long wavelengths make accurate field measurement and mathematical reconstruction intractable. My solution is to ramp up the emitter into the terawatt range and once the ground is in a molten state, point samples can be taken and spectrographically analyzed to determine where the underground utilities were.
